   بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

assalamualaikum :)
chem sketch. today's topic..interesting and very chemically right? what exactly is chemsketch?
ACD/ChemSketch is a chemically intelligent drawing interface that allows you to draw almost any chemical structure including organics, organometallics, polymers, and Markush structures. It is used to produce professional looking structures and diagrams for reports and publications.

Features:
  • Draw and view structures in 2D, or render in 3D to view from any angle
  • Draw reactions and reaction schemes, and calculate reactant quantities
  • Generate structures from InChI and SMILES strings
  • Generate IUPAC systematic names for molecules of up to 50 atoms and 3 ring structures
  • Predict logP for individual structures
  • Search for structures in the built-in dictionary of over 165,000 systematic, trivial, and trade names

Benefits:

  • Visualize chemical structures in 2D or 3D to gain more insight into spatial configurations, and relationships to molecular properties
  • Create professional reports, working with structures, text, and graphics simultaneously

wallahu'alam.

XML~

bismillahirrahmanirrahim
sollu 'alan nabiy~
XML? what does XML stands for? it stands for Extensible Markup Language

It moves on describing data and focus on what the data is. the tags are not predefined and XML is sued to trasnport data, stucture and also store data.

eg.
<note>
<to>
<from>
<heading>

There are three types where XML can be put on; XML documents, XML note and XML table.

wallahu'alam. :)

PDB (Protein Data Bank)

Assalamualaikum,
Ok,here I would like to share with you what we have learned in computer in science about PDB.

So,what is PDB stand for??

The Protein Data Bank (PDB; http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/ ) is the single worldwide archive of structural data of biological macromolecules. This paper describes the goals of the PDB, the systems in place for data deposition and access, how to obtain further information, and near-term plans for the future development of the resource.

Firstly, what is protein data bank?

  • A repository for 3-D biological macromolecular structure
  • It includes proteins, nucleic acids and viruses
  • it is used by biologists and biochemists to represent the proteins in structure form.
  • PDB is an important resourse for research in science sectors including pharmaceutical, biotechnology and   biomedical science.
How the structure of a chemical looks like by using PDB?

From the example of the trypsine structure below,you can see how beautiful the structure of a small chemical that cannot be seen by our naked eyes. Protein Data Bank helps a lot in reseach industry for the improvement of new technology.

The above diagram is a stucture of trypsin.

The table below shows the details about trypsin. This data also can be obtained from the website which I have stated earlier in this topic. For more structures and data, you may find from that website.

Tittle
Compound
2 Polymers
Molecule: BETA TRYPSIN
Polymer:1
Type:Protein
Length: 223
Chains: E
Organism: Bos taurus
Authors
Huber, R
Exp.method
X-RAY DIFFRACTION with resolution of 1.90
Classification
Proteinase Inhibitor
Primary citation
Structure of form III crystals of bovine pancreatic trypsin inhibitor.
(1987)
 J.Mol.Biol. 198: 469-480

In short, it is proven that Protein Data Bank is very important for showing 3-D biological macromolecular structure of a chemical and the data about it that is useful for the scientists, lecturers and students for learning process and for research.

web-paging?

HTML stands for HyperText MarkUp Language. It is blood related with HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and the World Wide Web (www). It is used to describe the appearance, layout and content posted online.

So how is it to create and publish a web page? It is as easy as falling of a log!

1) create an html document and place it on the web

2) every HTML must consists of five elements which are;
doctype, HTML, head, body element, elements inside body elements

3) you also needs META elements but these will not be displayed on the page. it can be sued by browsers to records document informations, forwards, and refreshes pages.

4) block level elements, includes headings, basic text sections, lists, tables and forms, heading types, attributes, and nesting tags.

5) text level elements? consisting of physical character styles, logical character style, and hypertext links.

 have fun trying insyaAllah. wallahu'alam :)

First Day in IIUM Kuantan

  بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
assalamualaikum wrh wbt..

The first day of orientation in IIUM Kuantan was a memorable day. The rush of adrenaline rose as we stepped into the Kulliyyah of Science for check in, registration. The long line of waiting made the nervousness even more. after being given the keys to our rooms, we quickly went to the auditorium for brief lectures on the opening of IIUM Kuantan. The whole three days of orientation, we finally understood the history of IIUM Kuantan, the rectors, lecturers.

But from all the moments there were living in IIUM Kuantan, the best place would definitely be the Masjid Sultan Ahmad Shah which was finally done and inaugurated by Sultan Pahang himself in early 2012. Alhamdulillah

wallahu'alam. end!
